Hi, I recently visited this restaurant and just wanted to give a point scale review on my experience. Also I would like to share some notes as well. 1 being needs improvement, 10 being excellent
Parking: 8.5 /10. Has it's own lot with a good amount of spots. Gets a little busy on the weekends.
Outside appearance: 8.5 /10 looks up to date and Clean.
Inside appearance: 6.5/10 could use a upgrade it looks outdated, I think people ate attached to the old school vibe so i doubt they'll change it.
Staff service: 7.5/10 great service. Very helpful and friendly.
Food and restaurant experiance notes: DPC is a hometown favorite. All their pizzas are fantastic. Their best is their signature pastrami pizza. The hype is real. They make it better then anybody else trying to copy. Great stuff. -

The old standard.
This is widely recognized for two things.
1) It is generally considered one of the best Pizza Places in the area.
2) It is the BEST place around to get a Pastrami Pizza.
We have come here many times - not recently though. I had a big time craving for a Pastrami Pizza and so I decided it was time to come here.
They service is always GOOD. The food is always GOOD. It's a roomy restaurant with booths around the walls and plenty of tables in the middle to move around to accommodate parties of almost any size.
I always have a salad and a small Pastrami Pizza. I am not a fan of Pastrami Sandwiches - never have been. But I got introduced to the pizzas here and got HOOKED. Salads are always served freshly prepared, chilled and with great dressing.
The pastrami pizza is just awesome. I don't know why I am so fond but I really am.
My wife always has the cheese ravioli - which she says is an excellent plate of pasta - served with garlic bread.
They have beer wine and a full bar. They have TVs throughout the place for viewing of your favorite sporting event. -

I am absolutely delighted whenever I get a chance to come here.
This is considered somewhat of an institution in Downey, not for being some ancient relic, but for having reverence of being the best pizza parlor in town.
It's very gutsy of them to name the place after the city and not be ridiculed. If this place sucks, you bet people want this place to be renamed.
Luck would have it in that they do stand by their pizza and wings.
The Downey Pizza Company is renown for their Pastrami Pizza with mustard, pickles, and pastrami on their traditional pan thick crust and good amount of cheese. They pretty much guaranteed you'll love it on their menu.
Surprisingly, the wings is another winner in this place. They have several types of pastas and sub sandwiches, but I would stick with the wings to go along with the pizza.
The structural layout reminds me of an old pub as the place has a old school bar with booth seats right by the entrance and the dining area reminds me of the Regal Beagle. (*Bonus point if you can guess that popular TV show).
A full beer and wine bar, but not cocktails. Then again, the clientele served here probably wouldn't ordered it. Strictly a local and family crowd coming in for their cravings.
ps. How is their other pizza? Not bad. I ordered "The Works" and "The Trio" before. Both were quite satisfying, but I got star struck with their pastrami pizza and never looked back. -

Filling selections of thick handmade pizzas served here. It also includes their famous pastrami pizza. They have $6-$10 lunch specials which includes 2 slice specials. Cost us a tad higher then other pizza places, which is average $15 a person. They do have happy hour and I must go back and try it soon. Really helpful staff and parking lot isn't an issue.

Sometimes we take it for granted that a place that's expected to be good, is, in fact, good and fail to give it a good review because it has and still meets your expectations. Well,
Downey Pizza Co. hadn't failed us yet. Pastrami pastrami pastrami!! Wonderful light fluffy crust just a bit charred on the edge topped with a white sauce, flavorful pastrami, mustard and chopped pickles. At first I didn't think I'd like it but....I can't seem to live without it.
